Termites are more active in the spring for a few reasons:

Warmer Weather: Termites thrive in warm, moist environments. As the weather warms up in spring, termite activity increases.

Mating Season: Spring is when many termite colonies swarm to mate and establish new colonies. This swarming behavior is more common in spring when the weather is favorable.

Food Availability: In spring, there is often an abundance of food sources for termites, such as decaying wood and other plant matter, making it an ideal time for them to forage and expand their colonies.

Moisture: Spring often brings increased rainfall, creating damp conditions that termites are attracted to as they need moisture to survive.

These factors combined make spring a peak season for termite activity and swarming. Check out other Seasonal Spring Pests to watch out for: Spring Pests
