Pavement ants are not picky eaters

Pavement ants will consume almost anything, including seeds, nuts, insects, and all kinds of human food including sweets and greasy items. From fruit to meat, nothing is off the pavement ant’s menu! Foraging pavement ants will travel as far as 30 feet from their colonies in search of food; they are well-known for setting up permanent trails to and from sources of abundant food.  Often, the first sign of an infestation is a trail of ants marching through your home or another building where food is present.
