How does your town rank on the mass.gov Arbovirus Risk Map?

Over the summer, there were 9 confirmed cases of West Nile Virus in Massachusetts. Additionally, there were 27 Mosquito-positive samples.

Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, Newtown, Watertown, Belmont, Arlington, and Waltham are all at Moderate Risk for West Nile Virus. This means that in these areas, “Infection is likely or has already occurred.” Click here to see the Arbovirus Risk Map provided by mass.gov. 

According to the Boston Children’s Hospital, Eastern Equine Encephalitis better known as EEE is still in season until after mid-Fall. The Arbovirus Risk Map for EEE shows rural areas are at the highest risk.
