Carpet Beetles

Carpet beetles belong to the family of beetles known as dermestids. These insects are pests that look for shelter and food in warehouses, homes, museums, and other locations.
Native adult carpet beetle populations feed on pollen and nectar in landscaping plants and shrubs that bloom in spring; they then subsequently make their way into homes and structures through open windows, cracks in screens and under doors.
Identify the source if you want to get rid of carpet beetles. Look for fecal pellets and the shed skins of the larva. Also look for holes in fabrics. Carpet Beetles tend to feed in dark, secluded areas like closets, drawers, basements, in between walls and insulation and storage boxes. Check under carpets and rugs, pick up couches and large pieces of furniture and inspect those thoroughly.
